Our oldest daughter and one of her BFFs were promoted from middle school this year. Yay! So, her friend’s mom (who happens to be my dear friend) and I decided it would be fun to throw a joint celebration for the girls, hawaiian-style!
A panoramic view of the party scene included a large crowd of our family & friends, many colorful flower leis & grass skirts, a delicious barbequed feast, and lots of splashing & swimming in the backyard pool. Good times.
The cake was covered in turquoise fondant, with tropical flowers cascading over the tiers. A little brown sugar at the bottom mimicked a sandy beach.
Grass skirts and paper lei garlands adorned the buffet tables. We hired Blue Rock BBQ to cater the luncheon buffet, which included heaps of shredded pork & chicken, barbequed beans, coleslaw, and their special spicy sauces. Quite yummy.
The girls helped us to create tropical-themed gummy skewers and we used them as centerpieces on the guest tables. They were a big hit!
The beverage table looked festive with paper straws and bubbly drinks.
